Los Angeles - Jammie Thomas-Rasset, the woman recently found guilty of copyright infringement on a file-sharing network and ordered to pay $1.9 million in damages, has rejected a settlement offer from the record labels, CNET News.com reported.

A spokesman for the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) told CNET that Thomas-Rasset's attorneys said she "wasn't interested in any deal that required her to pay any money or admit any guilt."

The RIAA has maintained that it was willing to settle with Thomas-Rasset for as little as $5,000.

In her first trial, a jury found Thomas-Rasset guilty and ordered her to pay $220,000, but the judge declared a mistrial after admitted erring in jury instructions.

The jury in the retrial also found her guilty, but upped the damages to $80,000 per song.

CNET noted that legal experts have said she may be able to avoid the $2 million payment by declaring bankruptcy.
