San Francisco - Slide, a developer of social media applications including its eponymous photo slideshow, has laid off a portion of its advertising sales staff, GigaOM reported.

The company is said to be refocusing on bigger revenue generators, such as brand sponsorships for its applications like Super Poke on Facebook.

San Francisco-based Slide has raised over $58 million in venture capital to date.

Slide CEO Max Levchin told GigaOM that some of the company's sales staff will be reassigned within the company, which plans to add business development staffers to help broker larger sponsorship deals.
