Kista, Sweden - Nanoradio, a maker of Wi-Fi chips used in
cell phones, wireless network cameras, portable media players and gaming
devices, announced on Wednesday that it has raised $17.3 million in new
financing.
New investors Viking Venture and Creandum joined previous backers Ferd Venture, Industrifonden, Innovacom, Nordic Venture Partners and Teknoinvest. Founded in 2004, Sweden-based Nanoradio claims its products can double the standby and talk time of standard Wi-Fi-enabed mobile phones. The company will use the new funds to launch a new line of products, and support its volume growth.
