The Printed Blog Shutters After Funding Dries Up

Chicago - The Printed Blog, a venture that published a print round-up of blog content, has decided to shutter after 16 issues due to "a lack of outside investment capital," founder Josh Karp wrote in a note on the company's blog.

Karp said that The Printed Blog had distributed some 80,000 print copies, and some 100,000 downloaded PDF editions.

The Printed Blog issued four local editions for Chicago, and one each for New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco.

"Despite a significant personal investment on my part, and the additional support of six or seven credit cards, we were unable to raise the minimum amount of money required to reach the next stage of our development," Karp wrote.

"This was a difficult decision for us, but the financial reality of the situation demanded that we suspend further publication immediately, and indefinitely."
