New York
- TMZ.com, the celebrity news website owned by Time Warner's (NYSE: TWX) AOL, is dropping
AOL's Platform-A online ad sales team and taking the business in-house, PaidContent
reported.
The website, which was the first to break the news of Michael
Jackson's death, is currently still hiring for its ad sales team, and will use Time
Warner's Telepictures unit to handle television ads.
TMZ is still hosted by AOL
and published with AOL's Blogsmith platform, PaidContent noted.
The site garners around 10 million
unique monthly visitors.
