Google to Sell Radio Unit Assets to WideOrbit

Mountain View, Calif. - Google (NASD: GOOG) has agreed to its Web-based radio ad buying service, Google Radio, to advertising management software firm WideOrbit for an undisclosed sum, PaidContent reported.

The deal includes Google Radio Automation, SS32 and Maestro products.

Staffers at the Google Radio unit will become employees of WideOrbit.

Founded in 1999, San Francisco-based WideOrbit manages $10 billion in online ads from some 1,300 radio and TV stations.

The company has raised $40 million in total funding, including most recently a $10 million round in October 2008.
