Los Angeles - Disney's (NYSE: DIS) ESPN plans to expand its localized websites for major cities that began in Chicago with new sites for New York, Los Angeles and Dallas, Variety reported.

Each of the sites will include high school sports coverage, and compete with local network news coverage with its own shortened, city-specific version of the cable network's popular "SportsCenter" news show.

In Los Angeles, the program will be filmed at a studio at the L.A. Live complex downtown.

The Dallas site is expected to launch in October, while the ESPN sites for Los Angeles and New York City are slated to launch in the first quarter of 2010.
