Calif. - Ning, a platform that
allows any group or person to create their own niche online social network, has
raised $15 million in new funding round that saw the company valued at $750
million, All Things D reported.
Lightspeed Venture Partners led the investment round. Palo Alto, Calif.-based Ning was founded in 2007, by Netscape founder Marc Andreessen and Gina Bianchini. The company counts counts over 29.3 million registered users and 1.3 million Ning networks, growing at a rate of nearly 4,000 new networks each day. The networks attract about 6 million monthly unique visitors in the U.S.
