Gracenote Debuts $2.99 MusicID iPhone Application

Emeryville, Calif. - Gracenote, a provider of music identification services, announced on Thursday that its Gravity Mobile unit has released a MusicID application for Apple's (NASD: AAPL) iPhone and iPod touch. The $2.99 application includes song identification when a user holds their device up to a speaker playing music, as well as text search by lyrics, artist bios and other multimedia features. Shazam offers a free music identification application for the iPhone, while Midomi's $4.99 application adds the ability to sing or hum a tune and receive the song title.
