- How-to video site 5min announced on Thursday that it has raised $7.5 million
in its second round of venture capital financing, led by new investor Globespan
Capital Partners.
Previous investor Spark Capital also participated in the round, proceeds from which will be used to expand the company's video syndication platform. New York-based 5min offers "how-to" videos on a range of topics, which attract 3.5 million monthly unique visitors to its website. 5min has built a library of over 100,000 professionally-produced videos through partnerships with companies such as UGO Entertainment, Elle, Car & Driver, Britannica and Kiplinger. The company's VideoSeed semantic video engine syndicates its videos to sites including Answers, wikiHow, Wikia and Articlesbase.
