Gawker Media: Ad Revenues Up 45% in First Half of '09Authored by Mark Hefflinger on July 27, 2009 - 11:18am.
New York
- Blog network Gawker Media has seen its revenues increase 45% in the first
half of 2009, according to post on CEO Nick Denton's blog. Denton has predicted last year that media
companies would see a decline of up to 40% in ad revenues, given the state of
the publishing industry and the economy. "But I was wrong in one respect:
a few premium internet brands, Gawker's among them, have withstood the
advertising apocalypse," Denton
wrote. In addition to its flagship Gawker.com, the company also runs sites
including Jezebel, Gizmodo and Kotaku.
