New York - Internet holding company IAC (NASD: IACI) has launched a new video content production company, Notional, out of its CollegeHumor.com comedy video site.

Notional will be led by former CollegeHumor editor-in-chief Ricky Van Veen, and aims to create content that appeals to viewers outside of CollegeHumor's young, male-focused audience.

The studio will "use its online expertise to develop programming that bridges the TV and online worlds, as opposed to simply repurposing TV content for the web," with an initial focus on "high-concept, buzzy, unscripted programming."

Notional also said it intends to create content for brands.

The studio's president of television, Dave Noll, previously produced over 800 TV episodes and 1,200 digital episodes at City Lights Media.
