Mixamo Gets $4 Million for Web Character Animation Service

San Francisco - Mixamo, the developer of an online character animation creation service, announced on Monday its launch, and a $4 million venture capital round led by Granite Ventures and Keynote Ventures.

San Francisco-based Mixamo's technology is based on research from Stanford University's BioMotion Lab, and was developed in collaboration with Toronto University and the Max Planck Institute.

The company plans to bring to market the first online service for customizing and creating character animation in a fraction of the time required by traditional methods.
