Los Angeles
- Torrage this week launched what's being called the first hosting service for
.torrent files, the bits of media files used to share files using the
BitTorrent peer-to-peer protocol, TorrentFreak reported. Both individual users,
and large torrent index sites like Suprnova and EZTV have begun to use the
service, which itself does not provide any search function, but instead provides
a unique URL for uploaded .torrent files. Torrance
is currently hosting "hundreds of thousands" of torrents, the report
said.
