Mass. - Turbine, a developer of
massively multiplayer online games, has raised nearly $6.6 million of an
expected $50 million fourth round of venture capital financing, PaidContent
reported, citing an SEC filing.
It's not clear from the filing who invested in this latest round; previous backers include Time Warner and Columbia Capital. Founded in 1994, the Massachusetts-based company has to date raised $88 million in funding. Turbine has produced games including "Asheron's Call," "Dungeons & Dragons Online" and "The Lord of the Rings Online."
