Job Search Engine, Ad Network Simply Hired Gets $4.6 Million

Mountain View, Calif. - Simply Hired, the developer of a large job search engine and recruitment advertising network, said on Tuesday that it has raised $4.6 million in a new round of funding from IDG Ventures and Foundation Capital.

The company, which has been cash-flow positive for the past four quarters, said that it will use the proceeds to support future domestic growth, increase its headcount from 50 to 80 in 2009 and accelerate international expansion.

Simply Hired, which also powers job listings for clients such as LinkedIn, MySpace, The Washington Post, CNNMoney, BusinessWeek and Plaxo, has raised $22.3 million to date.

Phil Sanderson, a managing director at IDG Ventures, joins the company's board of directors.
