San Diego - Zeebo, a start-up developing a low-cost video game console aimed at developing markets, has received $6 million in debt financing from a single investor, PaidContent reported, citing a regulatory filing.

The San Diego-based company has already launched its game console in Brazil, and is set to debut the device in Mexico later this year, and in India and China next year.

Publishers supporting the platform, which runs on Qualcomm's (NASD: QCOM) BREW, include Electronic Arts, Capcom and Namco Bandai.

VentureBeat reported the company received a $5.5 million investment from Qualcomm back in March.
