Fashion Playtes Gets $1.5M for Custom Girls' Apparel Service

Salem, Mass. - Fashion Playtes, the developer of a website where girls will be able to design their own clothes and then purchase them, has closed a $1.5 million first round of financing, led by New Atlantic Ventures and LaunchCapital.

Several angel investors also participated.

The Massachusetts-based company said it "aims to build a community around creativity in fashion, providing a chance for collaboration between family and friends, eventually incorporating game elements as well."

Fashion Playtes' service, currently in closed beta, is scheduled to launch publicly in the fall.
