Qtrax Music Service Faces More Lawsuits Over Unpaid Bills

New York - Qtrax, the developer of an ad-supported music download service seven years in the making, is facing more lawsuits from vendors who claim they haven't been paid, in addition to one filed by Oracle over a $1.9 million bounced check, CNET News.com reported.

Millennium Information Technologies sued Qtrax in April, over an unpaid bill for $147,634.72, for helping install Oracle's software to its own platform, while Las Vegas Wall Street Group filed suit in June, seeking $1.5 million to repay an unspecified debt.

The company jumped the gun last year in announcing licensing deals with all four major record labels, before the agreements had been finalized.

Qtrax CEO Allan Klepfisz told CNET that the company had recently secured some new funding, while CNET noted that Klepfisz wrote in a blog post dated two weeks ago that the company "will be announcing that final immutable launch date very soon."

I read that Qtrax is about

I read that Qtrax is about to roll out their massive launch, starting in Asia and then the US, Canada, and UK before the end of the year. It's funny how when I google Qtrax all I can find are these stories of lawsuits, but nobody writes about the potential of this massive global launch, which could be the biggest thing the music industry has even seen! http://sev.prnewswire.com/entertainment/20090817/NY6234317082009-1.html
