Calif. - Audible Magic, a
provider of content identification and copyrighted media tracking services, has
raised $1.28 million in new funding PaidContent reported, citing an SEC filing.
The investment came from "current" backers, some of whom include Florida Silicon Partners and Tierra Del Oro. Founded in 1999, Los Gatos, Calif.-based Audible Magic provide media fingerprinting services that can help copyright holders track the use of their content online. The company's technology is used by YouTube, for instance, to track uploads of copyrighted videos, allowing copyright holders to then choose to either remove or monetize the clips. Audible Magic will use the new funds for product development and marketing.
