Outed "Skanks in NYC" Blogger Plans to Sue GoogleAuthored by Mark Hefflinger on August 24, 2009 - 11:51am.
New York
- An anonymous blogger who was outed by Google through a court order --
demanded by a former model who claimed the "Skanks in NYC" blogger defamed
her -- now plans to file a $15 million suit against Google (NASD: GOOG), the New York Daily
News reported.
Rosemary Port, the author of "Skanks in NYC" who allegedly defamed former model Liskula Cohen, cited the anonymous authors of the Federalist Papers, while her attorney Salvatore Strazzullo told NYDN her suit will charge that Google "breached its fiduciary duty to protect her expectation of anonymity." "I feel proud to live in a country where you're not persecuted for your opinions," Port told NYDN. "That right has to be protected." Cohen's attorney, Steven Wagner, told NYDN that she is dropping her initial $3 million defamation suit against Port.
