New York - RightsFlow, a provider of mechanical licensing,
accounting and royalty payment services for companies that sell or distribute
music, announced on Wednesday that it has raised a $1.5 million first round of
funding, from Originate Ventures.
New York-based RightsFlow says it has been profitable since its launch in 2007. The company was founded by former executives at The Orchard and eMusic, including Patrick Sullivan, who served as VP of licensing and music services at those companies. RightsFlow will use the funds to more rapidly expand its data and licensing network, as well as to develop additional products and services.
