Orange Acquires Digital Ad Sales Firm UnanimisAuthored by Mark Hefflinger on August 28, 2009 - 7:17am.
London - European mobile
network operator Orange, a unit of France
Telecom, announced on Friday that it has acquired Unanimis, the U.K.'s largest
exclusive digital advertising network.
Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Unanimis says it reaches over 69% of the U.K. online population (about 25.6 million unique monthly users). The company has ad sales agreements with over 100 premium website brands, including Ticketmaster, Match.com and Shopping.com. Orange said that, combining Unanimis' ad network with its own mobile and Web assets, advertisers will be able to reach over 71.5% of the U.K. online population, and over 66% of the online population across the U.K., France, Spain and Poland. "With the acquisition of Unanimis, Orange now has strong footholds in two of Europe's three main digital advertising markets -- France and the UK -- which provide outstanding opportunities to pan-European advertisers and agencies while enabling us to accelerate our plans for growth from the mobile and online environment," said Paul Francois Fournier, executive vice president at Orange Advertising.
