Nokia Delays Launch of U.S. Digital Music ServiceAuthored by Mark Hefflinger on September 1, 2009 - 8:09am.
London - Nokia (NYSE: NOK) has delayed
the launch of its U.S.
digital music service, which it had previously said would launch by the end of
the year, into sometime in 2010, Forbes reported.
The Comes With Music service, which pairs music-focused handsets with unlimited download subscriptions, launched in the U.K. in October 2008 and has since expanded to nine other countries. Nokia currently claims about 7% of the U.S. mobile phone market. Forbes cited analysts who said that Comes With Music has failed to live up to Nokia's expectations so far, at least in developed markets, so the company may be fine-tuning its offering for the world's biggest music market.
