San Francisco - Motorola (NYSE: MOT) this week introduced the Cliq, its first handset to run Google's Android mobile operating system, which will go on sale in the fall exclusively from carrier T-Mobile (NYSE: DT). The phone, which has a social networking focus, sports a 3.1-inch touch-screen and a slide-out keyboard.

It will also feature Motoblur, proprietary software that will sit atop Android and integrate all of a user's contacts, email and social networking accounts, and push updates to the phone.

The New York Times cited analysts who predicted the Cliq will sell for about $100.

The handset will also go on sale as the "Dext" in Europe and elsewhere.

Motorola is also soon expected to introduce another Android-powered smartphone that will be sold by Verizon.
