Online Gambling Firm Bwin to Acquire Italy's Gioco Digitale

Vienna, Austria - Online casino operator and gambling firm Bwin announced on Monday that it will acquire Italian online poker and gaming operator Gioco Digitale, in a deal worth up to $168 million in cash and stock.

Gioco, which commands around 20% of the Italian online poker market, saw earnings of $13.4 million in the first half of 2009.

Bwin said the deal will make the company the largest online poker operator in Italy.
