Myriad Group Acquires Mobile Social Networking Firm Xumii

Zurich, Switzerland - Mobile application software developer Myriad Group announced on Tuesday that it has acquired San Mateo, Calif.-based Xumii, a provider of mobile social networking services.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Switzerland-based Myriad Group's software, which includes browsers, messaging and middleware for mobile phones, has to date shipped in more than 2 billion devices.

Xumii integrates a mobile phone user's contacts, social networks and instant messaging services into a single "social phonebook."
