New York - Just two months after being named the company's new COO, Kim Partoll reportedly has been let go by AOL, according to multiple media sources.

Partoll had managed AOL's access and business intelligence groups before receiving her promotion in July. John Kannapell, the company's senior vice president of search and local media, also has been dismissed.

The blog AllThingsD reported that the two most likely won't be replaced, with their responsibilities being shared by other executives.

Another site, PaidContent, added that AOL is now searching for a "world-class CMO," according to an inside source.

AOL is expected to complete its spin-off from parent Time Warner (NYSE: TWX) before the end of this year.
