Ga. - Digeo, the developer of a
digital video recorder set-top box and associated service, has been acquired by
ARRIS Group for about $20 million.
Founded in 1999 by Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen, Kirkland, Wash.-based Digeo has raised more than $110 million to date, from investors including Allen's Vulcan Ventures. The company distributes its line of Moxi DVR set-tops with cable providers including Charter, Time Warner Cable and Comcast. Digeo had recently laid off half of its staff and scaled back on development plans.
