Va. - YellowBrix, a provider of
targeted industry news and business information services, said on Thursday that
it has acquired New York-based Screaming Media, which provides syndicated news
to Internet and wireless services, from owner Dow Jones & Company (NYSE: NWS).
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. The acquisition, the third for YellowBrix in eight years, includes product lines, customers and content services under the Screaming Media brand . "The acquisition further extends YellowBrix's reach into the corporate community," said CEO Jeff Massa. Dow Jones unit MarketWatch paid $103 million when it acquired Screaming Media in 2003.
