Reston, Va. - About 161 million U.S. Internet users
watch a video online in August -- the largest audience ever recorded --
according to new figures from comScore.
Sites owned by Google (NASD: GOOG), including
YouTube, accounted for more than 10 billion of the 25 billion videos viewed
during the month.
Microsoft ranked second (547 million), followed by Viacom
Digital (539 million) and Hulu (488 million).
Online viewers watched an average
of 157 videos each during the period.
