San Francisco
- Streaming music service imeem has raised around $6 million in new financing,
TechCrunch reported, citing multiple unnamed sources.
The bulk of the money is said to have come from previous backer Morgenthaler Ventures, with participation from Warner Music Group. Other existing investors, including Sequoia Capital, reportedly declined to participate. News of the funding was first reported back in May. San Francisco-based imeem started off as a music-focused social media site, but has since morphed into basically an ad-supported streaming music service. The company has to date raised a total of around $24.8 million in financing.
