Md. - Making a push to expand
beyond its traditional radio audience measurement business, Arbitron said that
it has formed a new Cross-Platform media measurement group. The company said
that it plans to use its core Portable People Meter (PPM) technology, which
detects embedded signals within encoded audio streams, to "capture an
integrated view of the modern consumer media experience" including TV,
radio, Internet, mobile and placed-based media.
