Detroit
- Apple (NASD: AAPL) has settled a lawsuit filed by hip-hop artist Eminem's music publishing
company over digital distribution rights of his songs, the Associated Press
reports.
Eight Mile Style had alleged that Aftermath Records was not authorized to distribute the artist's tracks on Apple's iTunes Store, and sought millions in damages for copyright infringement. The AP reports that Eight Mile had sought in court to create a new publishing contract with Apple. Terms of the settlement were not disclosed, although Eight Mile attorney Richard Busch told AP that "the case was settled to the satisfaction of all parties."
