Prague, Czech Republic - KIT digital, a provider of
software or managing and monetizing online video, announced on Monday that it
will acquire two competitors: Germany's
Nunet and New York-based The FeedRoom.
KIT paid about $10 million for The FeedRoom and $11.1 million for Nunet, which it acquired from IMG. The FeedRoom provides video distribution for customers including Barnes & Noble, Best Buy, BusinessWeek, HP and the U.S. Dept. of Defense, while Nunet's mobile video platform is used by operators such as Vodafone, SFR and Vodacom. "Nunet and The FeedRoom complement and substantially expand our client base, core capabilities and our commitment to serving video to the 'three screens' of the mobile device, browser and television through an IP set-top-box," said Kaleil Isaza Tuzman, KIT digital's chairman and CEO.
