Report: NBA.com Most Popular U.S. Sports League WebsiteAuthored by Mark Hefflinger on October 5, 2009 - 10:02am.
Reston, Va.
- Of the four major U.S.
professional sports Web properties, NBA.com, the site of the National
Basketball Association (NBA), attracted the most global interest during a
year-long period ending in July, according to new figures from comScore.
The profile of visitors to the site showed that 53% came from North America, with 27% also from the Asia-Pacific region and 14.5% from Europe. By comparison, just 7% of visitors to NFL.com, the website of the National Football League, came from outside North America. For both the National Hockey League (NHL.com) and Major League Baseball (MLB.com), that figure was 12%. The data also showed that U.S. visitors to all four of the sites tend to come from households with higher-than-average incomes, led by the NHL.
