Tokyo - Nintendo and 54 developers of games for its DS handheld game system have filed a lawsuit seeking $4.4 million in damages from four importers of devices that allow pirated software to play on the DS, Variety reported.

The lawsuit demands that the defendants cease importation and selling of "majicon" devices in Japan, such as the R4 Revolution, which let users download pirated games and play them on the DS.

A Tokyo District Court previously ruled in February that the importation and sale of such devices was illegal.
