Calif. - Personal Web Systems, the
developer of a Web browser designed for use on televisions, has raised $1.2
million of an expected $1.8 million round of financing, PaidContent reported,
citing a regulatory filing.
CEO Gordon Campbell told PaidContent the funding came from both venture capital firms and private investors, and will be used for product development and operating capital. Palo Alto, Calif.-based Personal Web Systems plans to release its $150 device early next year, which will enable Web surfing on a television, and navigation controls including a keyboard, iPhone or Palm Pre.
