TV Semiconductor Firm Fresco Microchip Gets $10 Million

Toronto, Canada - Fresco Microchip, a developer of chips used in TV tuners, DVRs and other video set-top boxes, has raised $10 million in new funding, led by Celtic House Venture Partners and Ventures West.

Founded in 2004, Toronto-based Fresco said that six of the top nine tuner can manufacturers are promoting or producing using its components.

The company plans to use the funds to expand its commercial activities and bring new products to market.
