Soquel, Calif. - Pelican Imaging, a stealth-mode
company developing "computational" cameras for smartphones, has
raised $7 million in new financing, PEHub.com reported.
Previous backers
include Granite Ventures and InterWest Partners.
Soquel,
Calif.-based Pelican said its software cameras "address the challenges
posed by conventional camera design, small pixels and the megapixel race,"
and will produce "superior photographs and video."
