Calif. - ViVu, a provider of
personal webcasting technology, announced on Tuesday that it has closed on a $3
million first round of funding, led by Inventus Capital Partners.
Draper Fisher Jurvetson, Quest Ventures and entrepreneur Bill Carrico also participated in the round, which will be used for business development and marketing efforts to bring the company's flagship video service to market. Founded in 2008, Sunnyvale, Calif.-based ViVu's platform lets meeting organizers create, publish and manage video webcasts, enabling live participation via a PC, Mac or smartphone. Pricing starts at $49 per month for a single user license offering unlimited online meetings. The company's platform will power a live webcast of the Digital Hollywood conference later this month.
