accounted for 59% of all U.S.
social network site visits in September, an increase of 194% from the 19% of
site visits that Facebook attracted a year ago, according to data from Internet
measurement firm Hitwise. MySpace received the second-highest percentage of
traffic among social network sites in September, with 30.2% -- a plunge from the
67% of all traffic it drew a year ago.In fourth place, having increased its percentage of overall U.S. social network site traffic by 1,170% year-over-year, was Twitter, with just 1.84% of traffic. While MySpace's percentage of social network traffic may have plummeted from last year, the site still leads in average time spent by users, with 25 minutes and 56 seconds, compared with Facebook (23:00) and Twitter (15:52).
