Sunnyvale, Calif. - Yahoo (NASD: YHOO) on Wednesday announced a partnership with GroupM Entertainment, a unit of advertising giant WPP, to help marketers incorporate their brands into original online programming.

Under the deal, GroupM and Yahoo will "identify advertisers, develop creative concepts that map media content with an advertiser's messaging, and produce the content for each program," which will appear on Yahoo media properties like News, Sports, Finance and Entertainment.

Yahoo has previously landed deals with Scottrade to sponsor its TechTicker program, while Sports Minute was developed for client Dunkin' Donuts.

GroupM, meanwhile, developed "In the Motherhood," an original webisode series for Sprint and Unilever that became the first prime-time sitcom to have been spun off from an online series.
