Paris
- France-based video-sharing site Dailymotion announced on Thursday that it has
raised $25 million in a new round of financing, led by the French Sovereign
Fund.
Previous backers Advent Venture Partners, AGF Private Equity, Atlas Venture and Partech International also participated. The company's CEO, Cedric Tournay, said publicly earlier this month that the company had raised over $22 million, but the French Sovereign Fund was not named as an investor at the time. Dailymotion attracts 60 million unique monthly visitors, and serves a billion video views monthly. The company will use the funds to expand its offerings to platforms such as mobile and IPTV.
