- HotPotato, the developer of a real-time communication service geared towards
events, has raised around $1 million in funding, led by First Round Capital and
RRE Ventures, All Things D reports.
Other investors including Betaworks and Ron Conway also participated. Brooklyn, N.Y.-based HotPotato was founded by former Major League Baseball Advanced Media executive Justin Shaffer. The company's services offers a "curated stream" of real-time messages at events from attendees as well as those watching from afar. HotPotato also plans to release an iPhone application in the coming weeks.
