- Unity Technologies, the provider of a multi-platform game development
platform for the Web, consoles and mobile devices, announced on Monday that it
has raised $5.5 million in its first round of venture capital financing, led by
Sequoia Capital.
Also participating were Atari CEO David Gardner, and VMware founder Diane Greene. San Francisco-based Unity's platform is currently being employed by publishers including Electronic Arts and Cartoon Network in over 325 games.
