- Vevo, the online music video portal joint venture between Universal Music
Group, Sony (NYSE: SNE) Music and Abu Dhabi Media Company, has signed AT&T (NYSE: T) as the first
sponsor of the site.
Set to launch yet this year in the U.S. and Canada, Vevo will be powered by
YouTube (NASD: GOOG) and also feature a branded YouTube channel.
The site will feature music
videos -- already the most-popular content on YouTube -- in addition to other
music-related video content produced by labels and users of the service.
