Google Introduces "Social Search" Feature

Mountain View, Calif. - Google (NASD: GOOG) has introduced a new experimental search feature from its Google Labs, Social Search, which adds relevant public content from a user's friends and contacts to search results.

The service automatically searches for contacts linked from a public Google profile, such as who the user is following on Twitter or FriendFeed, Facebook friends, and contacts from Gmail and chat.

Users can also manage what content from their own profiles they wish to share, and which friends' content they see.
