Omaha World-Herald Acquires WikiCity Local Wiki Network

Omaha, Nebr. - WikiCity, an online network of over 22,000 city-based wikis, has been acquired by newspaper publisher Omaha World-Herald Co, the World Herald reported on its website.

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Omaha, Nebr.-based WikiCity features more than 13 million Web pages on its network, which is open to user contributions related to locations, people and events in the cities represented.

WikiCity founder Pat Lazure will continue to lead the company under the Herald.
