Los Angeles
- The National Basketball Association (NBA) has released a new live mobile
video application, for platforms including Apple's (NASD: AAPL) iPhone and the Google (NASD: GOOG)
Android Marketplace, which will cost $40 per year.
The NBA League Pass Mobile application offers over 40 out-of-market games weekly, through partner MobiTV. NBA Digital general manager Bryan Perez told PaidContent that the league also hopes to add in-market games at some point. The offering will also expand to Research in Motion's (NASD: RIMM) BlackBerry by the end of the year. Major League Baseball already offers live streaming video of games to mobile phones, while the National Hockey League and National Football League also offer some limited live mobile video streaming.
